MULTI EASYSTRIP 342

PETROLEUM BASED SHUTTER RELEASE AGENT

DESCRIPTION

C&CA Category 5 for Chemical Release Agents. Low viscosity hydrocarbon carrier blends with chemical active release agents. Chemical release agents applied to mould and shutter surfaces prior to casting concrete in order to achieve a clean release. MULTI EASYSTRIP formulations can be applied to the formwork by spray in a light uniform mist coating or by brush.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

MULTI EASYSTRIP is suitable for application onto plywood, timber, steel and plastic faced formwork and shuttering. Concrete cast with MULTI EASY STRIP as the release agent have a smooth, hard, uniform and light-coloured finish. It will not affect the concrete in any deleterious manner. It may also be applied to rough sawn timber formwork when a grained effect is required The adhesion of subsequent surface coatings or renders is not affected by concrete treated with MULTI EASYSTRIP moulds prior to casting the concrete in order to provide a clean release.

For application on existing lime washed walls where the traditional lime-based coating is to be maintained. Can be applied to out-buildings, brickwork, virgin plaster or wall render, and untreated concrete.

ADVANTAGES

  • MULTI EASYSTRIP formulations reduce the incidence of blow holes on the concrete face, are non-staining and can be used on concrete produced with White Portland Cement.
  • MULTI EASYSTRIP has a higher coverage than other oils due to their low viscosity.
  • MULTI EASY STRIP treated plywood and timer moulds are waterproofed thereby preventing swelling. Steel moulds are protected against rust and continued applications will assist in the removal of existing rust.
  • MULTI EASYSTRIP reacts chemically with cement in a manner that imparts excellent release properties to the face of treated moulds and shuttering.

WATCH POINTS

  • Storage must be in a cool, shaded area. Heat and direct sunlight will cause emulsion to split.
  • Better results are obtained with progressive application as plywood becomes saturated with the release agent over time.
  • Remove excess product before use.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE SURFACE PREPARATION

Surfaces to be clean, sound and free of deleterious substances. Remove all laitance, oil, grease, paints, mould oil or curing compound from surfaces using wire brush, bush hammer, scabbler or other plant as appropriate.

PRIMING NEW TIMBER BOARDS

Use an initial application of MULTI EASYSTRIP 342 as a primer coat and allow to draw into the boards. Then apply a second coat before use.

APPLICATION

Initially apply before the first casting, thereafter, re-apply between castings. preferably immediately after stripping and cleaning the mould. Application may be made by a fine haired brush or using a very thin spray coating. Any excess release agent must be removed.

CURING

It is essential that all concrete be cured to achieve design strength and reduce moisture loss. Cure with MULTICURE curing compounds.

EQUIPMENT CARE

MULTI EASYSTRIP may be left in spray guns or sprayers without detriment but with certain types there may be some softening of the rubber seals with prolonged contact. When necessary, clean the spray gun with white spirits or paint thinners.
