Multi Cure 200

Description

MULTICURE 200 is a water-based slightly viscous acrylic emulsion solution that dries to a colourless stain-free surface finish when applied to the concrete Note: on over-application, a slightly glassy concrete surface finish can result.

Typical Applications

MULTICURE 200 is an economical method of assisting efficient concrete curing. The presence and retention of water in concrete is essential to ensure adequate strength development and to minimize initial plastic shrinkage crack development. Unlike conventional surface film-forming membranes, MULTICURE 200 acts chemically with the hydroxides produced by hydration of cement in concrete thus giving a dense, pore-filling. crystalline structure which in turn reduces the moisture evaporation rate from the concrete surface. It should be noted that whilst MULTICURE 200 is effective in improving moisture retention, the curing Efficiency Index is lower than that of conventional resin film-forming membranes (see data sheet on our MULTICURE 300 Curing Compound range).

Therefore, where high curing Efficiency Index Rates are required, the MULTICURE resin film-forming membrane compounds should be considered. Bear in mind that should subsequent surface coatings be required, the time lapse involved with resin based membranes is substantially longer.

The selection of the correct curing membrane grade is dependent on specification requirements and on job site conditions.

Watch Points

• Do not over apply as the resulting coating will take longer to degrade and may have to be removed mechanically.
• When applied as directed, MULTI CURE 200 will not interfere with subsequent surface treatments for concrete e.g. paints, emulsions, sealants, adhesives

Specification Clause

Freshly placed exposed concrete shall be cured by spray application with MULTICURE 200 concrete curing compound to the following specifications:

• Specific Gravity at 20'C (sheen cup) 1, O. Compliance with specification type AASHTO M148 and National Water Control Approval 8104MX (Great Britain) Composition.

• High molecular weight acrylic water-based solution.

• MULTICURE 200 is to be applied to the concrete (indicate) at a coverage range of 8.5m2 per liter strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's Instructions.

Directions for Use

Surface Preparation:

MULTI CURE 200 should be spray applied evenly to freshly cast horizontal concrete surfaces immediately after the initial surface water sheen has disappeared. For vertical surfaces the MULTI CURE 200 can be applied immediately to the "as stripped' concrete surface (there is no prerequisite to damp down the surface prior to application)

Equipment Care

All equipment should be cleaned with water after use.
